I am not a graphic designer
This must have been said a gazillion times before but why is it that if your work involves anything to do with Information Technology people assume you can fix their computer or pretty much anything to do with IT and the Internet.
Despite computers being around since the 1930′s (correct me if I’m wrong) and I understand around 70% of UK households have Internet access, the computer is still very much a little machine of wonders to the majority of users.
If my computer breaks, I call my IT techie friend because that’s what he does. If a client wants an image designing, I put them in touch with one of my graphic designer friends. If someone wants a website, while I can put together something quite basic from hand coded html or perhaps using wordpress technology, I will generally point them in the direction of a web designer.
My specialist area within the IT industry is Internet Marketing. I am not:
- A computer programmer
- A web designer
- A graphic designer
- A computer technician
- A network engineer
If begged I will have a go at things outside my arena but remember, you have been warned!
