Launch of Manchester SEO

Looking at the SERPs today for ‘Manchester SEO’ and ‘SEO Manchester’ there are a number of results that link to actual websites of various consultants and agencies. There are also several results that link to rubbish. We can see one page sites which were thrown up without much love and attention with the purpose of assisting ranks for a vanity term. And there are neglected blogs where perhaps the owner now works for a larger agency and no longer has the time to maintain it.

Like many SEO’s I buy the odd domain to test certain theories or prove a point. Back in 2009 I registered such a domain which has now served it’s purpose. So rather than taking it down, redirecting it or leaving it to fester and pollute the SERPs with yet another spammy SEO website I would try and make it into something useful. So I recently relaunched it as a website that offers more visibility to existing Manchester SEO Providers with the target market not being other SEO’s but actual clients.

Here’s the deal:

• Any Manchester based SEO provider is invited to submit a listing
• Listed providers may also become contributors
• There is no charge to be listed

Should a business who is looking for an SEO provider come across the website they may browse the listed providers or they can submit a request for a provider to contact them. Listed members will receive that information in the form of a newsletter (which they need to subscribe to).

There is no catch involved, listings are accepted from any Manchester SEO provider as are contributor requests. It is not the intention of Manchester SEO to compete with the existing SERPs for the various Manchester+SEO search terms, rather it will compliment them by linking directly to actual providers website. Although if it helps to push the rubbish further down the SERPs then that can only be a good thing. All content is credited and there will be no bias regarding who gets link love and who doesn’t (although contributors get that extra bit more).

I’ve already tweeted about the website and some have added their details but we’re short of freelance consultants and have NO copywriters yet. So don’t be shy. Get listed, join in and feel free to let me know what you think.

P.S. This Manchester SEO website is not to be confused with the official website for the Manchester SEO Community network where SEO’s plan and arrange meets and events, talk shop, get drunk, plan to buy silly domains, etc.

P.P.S. If you are guilty of owning any of the rubbish Manchester SEO websites in the SERPs do yourself and everyone else a favour and take it down and redirect it to your main website. Better still, turn it into something useful!
