How to Sign Out of Web History

(Even though you aren’t signed in!)

Given there is a lot of buzz around personalised Google search at the moment I thought I would start off with a very simple ‘how to’ aimed at the average Internet user.

Even though you are signed out of Google you will now find that Google is recording your searches via ‘Web History’

There are mixed opinions about this but if, like me, you would prefer to be given ‘fresh’ results each time you search you can opt out of this setting.

Click ‘web history’ and you will see the page below.

Click ‘Disable customisations based on search activity” and it will change to ‘Enable customizations based on search activity” (below)

You will continue to see ‘Web History’ in the top right but from hereon strictly speaking, your results should remain fresh.
